Established in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level extension is the only one planned for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to secure john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing third-level names remained active.

Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar company and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special stipulations on who can register a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
